  • World Day of the Poor

  • Message from the Society of Saint Vincent de Paul regarding the celebration of the 7th World Day of the Poor, Sunday, November 19, 2023.

  • Langton/ Walsh SSVDP

Our Saint Vincent de Paul is a small group but we cover a large area, we have no boundaries. We will assist families or individuals from anywhere in Haldimand-Norfolk.

Our main goal is to assist with emergency situations. For example, if someone needs help to pay their rent, hydro or someone needs work boots to start a new job. Or if they need help before that first pay cheque arrives, we can assist. We give no cash but would arrange for these emergencies to be paid for, usually, these are once in a lifetime situations.

We also do food vouchers, provide gas money, or pay for accommodations for a limited time. Any situation that may need immediate help, we will try to fill that void for that individual.

We also do annual Christmas baskets! We only work through the Christmas Exchange Program in Simcoe, but try to assist at least 50 families every year. Families can arrange to pick up their basket or we will hand deliver them, whatever is convenient for them. We also provide gifts for children whenever applicable.

    For assistance
    Please call 1-855-561-4184,
    select option #3,
and leave your name, address, and phone number. We will return your call as soon as possible.

  • Donations

Donations are announced and accepted on the 1st Sunday of every month. The donation box can be found at the back of Sacred Heart and St.Michael's Church. There is also a permanent box at the back of each Church so donations can be made at any time.

Anyone who donates $20.00 or more can receive a tax receipt as long as they include their name and address with the donation. We wouldn't be able to do the work we do without the donations we receive from parishioners. We truly appreciate each and every donation we receive and thank all those who contribute!
